Our Team

David Mapley – Director
David specialises in Company and Charity accounts and manages a wide portfolio of clients covering a whole range of industries, structures and sizes. He is able to advise all clients in accountancy and taxation matters at all stages of their business lifecycle.
Outside of work, David is a keen follower of most sports, in particular football, cricket and motor racing and has a keen interest in history and transport.

Christine Nye – Director
Christine began her career at KPMG where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor.
Christine has been with our practice since 2020, she manages a wide portfolio of clients, providing accountancy and taxation advice to individuals and local businesses.
Christine heads up our tax department dealing with both Personal and Corporation Tax Returns and tax advisory work.
In her spare time, Christine likes to listen to comedy podcasts and is teaching herself Spanish.

James Evans – Manager – Business Growth and Advisory Services
James began his career in the audit team at MHA where he enjoyed working closely with a variety of organisations ranging from SMEs to Charities. James is a Chartered Management Accountant.
James joined the Higson & Co accounts team in 2021 and has continued on this path supporting the directors’ with the provision of Ltd Company, Charity and management accounting services.
In his spare time James enjoys socialising with friends and watching rugby.

Joanne Horner – Practice Manager
Jo joined the practice in 2022 and helps with the smooth running of the office through various admin tasks and managing reception.
Jo has previously had similar admin based, customer facing roles, ranging from the receptionist for a building contractor to the duty manager of a leisure center.
To relax, Jo enjoys trips to the theatre, reading novels and going on walks with her dogs.

Bradley Kesby – Senior Accountant
Bradley joined Higson & Co initially on work experience in 2019 and joined the team full time in 2020. Bradley is AAT qualified and ACCA part qualified.
Bradley supports our clients with their statutory accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, management accounts and VAT returns.
In his spare time, Bradley is a motor sport enthusiast who likes to go karting.

Victoria Higson – Tax Senior
Victoria started her career as an apprentice at Higson and Co in 2013 and completed her Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification followed by Taxation Technician (ATT). Victoria deals with the day-to-day management of personal tax clients and providing taxation advice to individuals.
In her spare time Victoria enjoys spending time with her three children and going on walks in the countryside.

Gillian Sales – Bookkeeping Manager
Gillian joined us in 2023 to manage our bookkeeping work and VAT Returns.
Gillian has experience in using many different software packages including Xero, Quickbooks and Sage.
In her free time Gillian likes taking part in pub quizzes and going on walks with her dog

Hannah Turner – Payroll and Bookkeeping Senior
Hannah started her journey in accounting in 2019, studying with AAT level 2/3 in Bookkeeping and more recently taking a change in direction studying ICB Level 3 Diploma in Payroll Management. Focused on delivering accurate payroll and pension support whilst ensuring compliance. Hannah also assists in some bookkeeping work focusing on support with VAT returns.
In her spare time Hannah likes to spend time relaxing and socialising with friends. She is keen on history and loves to visit a stately home or two supporting both English Heritage and National Trust. She also loves listening to crime/spooky podcasts.

Mish Nowak – Semi-Senior Accountant
Mish (Marisia) joined the practice in March 2026 and was previously employed in a similar field working towards her ACA qualification before taking time out for maternity leave.
Mish works with the team by assisting clients with their statutory accounts, tax returns and general bookkeeping
In her spare time Mish enjoys listening to heavy metal music and spending time outside with her son and two dogs.

Ethan Baker – Semi-Senior Accountant
Ethan started his accounting career in 2022 and is now completing his Level 4 AAT after having completed his Level 3.
Ethan works on the year-end accounts, bookkeeping and VAT Returns here at Higson & Co.
Outside of work Ethan loves to play football and bake in his spare time.

Malaki Triffitt – Junior Accountant
Malaki joined us in December 2024. He is AAT Level 3 qualified and currently studying to complete his AAT Level 4, with hopes to continue towards ACCA.
Working alongside the team, Malaki helps with the preparation of year-end accounts, VAT returns, bookkeeping, and anywhere else he can lend a hand.
Outside of the office, Malaki is a musician and producer for his own material and other artists.

Bee Bourner – Receptionist
Bee (Bernice) joined the practice in March 2026 and helps with the smooth running of the office through a variety of reception and administrative duties. She manages the day-to-day running of reception, including welcoming clients, answering telephone enquiries, managing appointments, and dealing with post.
Before joining the practice, Bee worked as a qualified teacher before moving into a role with Kent County Council.
When not working, Bee enjoys spending time outdoors with her son and their dog, whether at the beach, in the park or exploring the local countryside.

Peter Higson – Consultant
Peter founded Higson & Co over 25 years ago. Peter previously worked with KPMG and decided that he would try his hand at setting up his own accountancy practice, which has since grown from strength to strength.
In 2022, keen to spend more time traveling and less time working, Peter sold the business to the management team. Peter now works for Higson & Co as a Consultant, sharing his wide range of knowledge and experience.
Peter is enjoying his semi-retirement and likes to spend time in Italy.
